Journeys with the No Schedule Man

Jan 30, 2020

Play On! is Canada's largest hockey tournament and sports festival, holding the Guinness record as largest street hockey tournament in the world.

The Play On! program operated nationally between 2004 and 2017, in partnership with the CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada for the last ten of those seasons. It was a series of individual events held annually from coast to coast across Canada, each offering a festival atmosphere with recreational and competitive street hockey tournament divisions for all genders, skill levels and ages.

Since the program's inception in 2003, more than 2 million people have participated. However, for the past two seasons, the program has not operated.

Scott Hill is the founder of Play On! and in this conversation, he shares a great amount detail about the event he helped to create including:

~ What initially inspired the creation of Play On! and how it got started.

~ What Play On! looked at at its peak.

~ Some of the people, partners, sponsors that played key roles over the years.

~ What led to Play On! ceasing operations for now.

~ What it might take to bring it back.
